What Is Florida Step Up For Students?

Step Up For Students is a state-approved nonprofit organization that provides PreK–12 scholarships to help Florida families access expanded education options.

Founded in 2001, Step Up has grown into one of the largest scholarship funding organizations in the country, serving more than 500,000 students statewide. Florida’s scholarship programs are designed to increase access to high-quality, customizable education.

Through these scholarships, families may pursue alternatives to traditional public schools, including charter schools, private schools, homeschooling, and other approved educational options.

Using Step Up For Students (EMA) at MyFunScience

MyFunScience classes may be purchased under the “Part-Time Tutoring” option in the EMA portal.

We are actively working to expand approvals under this option. The classes listed below are currently approved. If your desired class is not listed, please

How to Use Step Up For Students Funds at MyFunScience

Step 1: Start Your Order with MyFunScience

1. Visit our Contact Us page and let us know you are starting an order and would like to use your Florida Step Up For Students funding.
2. Add your courses to your cart and proceed to checkout.
3. Select the Payment Plan option. In the Order Notes section, write:
   “I would like to use Florida Step Up For Students funding.”
   Note: A temporary $99 fee will appear. You will not be charged. We will remove the fee. This step simply allows us to collect the information needed to register your student.

Step 2: Complete the Process in EMA

1. Log in to the EMA (Step Up funding portal).
2. Locate MyFunScience as an Approved Business Vendor.
3. Select the appropriate teacher and course term (Full Year or Single Semester).
4. Submit your request through EMA.
5. Once notified by EMA, we will adjust pricing to reflect any current sale.
6. After approval, we will send confirmation and enrollment instructions.
