Algebra 2 Course Overview
This class is approved by the NCAA.
Algebra 2 is designed as a sequel to Algebra 1.
Algebra 2 will extend on concepts from algebra 1 including polynomials, factoring, algebraic fractions, exponents, radicals and quadratic equations. Students will also advance to new topics such as conic sections, synthetic division, and matrices.
The main goal is to prepare students for upper level math classes such as pre-calculus and college algebra upon the completion of this class.
It is NOT necessary to complete Geometry prior to taking this course.

This course will utilize the online resource MathXL® – a powerful, online homework, tutorial, and assessment system.
We will use online homework and tests throughout the class to give students repeated practice and confidence in growing math skills. It includes: video and/or power point lecture slides, step by step examples for any problem, chapter reviews, individualized study plans based on performance.
This tool allows for instant help and feedback on each problem, supporting mastery of each topic.
