Christine Filipek - Teacher - MyFunScience.com

Christine Filipek lives on a small farm in southeast Michigan with her wonderful family. Her husband, who is a music teacher, and Christine homeschooled their children for over 20 years. They LOVE animals, have 2 horses, a goat, tons of chickens, 3 turkeys (named Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter), a bunny, several cats, a parrot, a lovebird and 3 dogs, Pete, Gus and Tucker. Christine and her family have had the opportunity to raise many domestic and wild animals. She loves making pottery, gardening, reading, sewing, watching movies (going to the drive-in), and hanging out with her family!

Christine graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a major in education, minoring in Bible and psychology. She taught for several years before having her own children. Besides teaching her children over the years, Christine also helped several families in her home by sharing her love for science. She loves the hands-on aspect of science. It helped her family understand more about what they were learning and was so much FUN!

Christine owns and operates REACH Tutorial, teaching a variety of science classes and Latin to all ages. She has taught science online for over a dozen years and enjoys seeing her students learn the love of science. She and her husband were active in our local and state homeschool groups. They served on the boards of two local homeschool groups for over 15 years. Education is important to Christine Filipek and her family, and their children's right to homeschool is very dear to their hearts. Christine looks forward to helping other homeschool families continue on this awesome journey.
