Description

Biblical Archaeology Course Overview

In this Biblical Archaeology class, students will experience the biblical lands as you discover sites, artifacts, and history first revealed in God’s Word. Learn the civilizations thought to be biblical myths until the sands of time and exploration revealed their existence. From the history of Israel to the powerful Egyptian pharaohs, discover these ancient peoples and cities, and the science of finding their place in history.

The Archaeology Book

The Archaeology Book helps students unearth: how archaeologists know what life was like in the past; why broken pottery can tell more than gold or treasure; some of the difficulties in dating ancient artifacts; how the brilliance of ancient cultures demonstrates God’s creation; history of ancient cultures, including the Hittites, Babylonians, and Egyptians.

Unwrapping the Pharaohs

Unwrapping the Pharaohs takes students back in time to when Egyptians such as the boy-king Tutankhamen, the female pharaoh Hatshepsut, and the beautiful Cleopatra are brought to life. The DVD includes a breathtaking journey through the pyramids and temples of Egypt.

Unveiling the Kings of Israel

Unveiling the Kings of Israel guides students to a deeper understanding of the history of the small nation of Israel, including the troubled and devastating periods of loss and exile once lost to time. Far from being a book of myths, the Bible is an amazing historical record, and each year, more archaeological discoveries continue to prove its validity and significance.

They LOVE animals, have 2 horses, a goat, tons of chickens, 3 turkeys (named Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter), a bunny, several cats, a parrot, a lovebird and 3 dogs, Pete, Gus and Tucker. Christine and her family have had the opportunity to raise many domestic and wild animals. She loves making pottery, gardening, reading, sewing, watching movies (going to the drive-in), and hanging out with her family!

Christine graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a major in education, minoring in Bible and psychology. She taught for several years before having her own children. Besides teaching her children over the years, Christine also helped several families in her home by sharing her love for science. She loves the hands-on aspect of science. It helped her family understand more about what they were learning and was so much FUN!

Christine owns and operates REACH Tutorial, teaching a variety of science classes and Latin to all ages. She has taught science online for over a dozen years and enjoys seeing her students learn the love of science. She and her husband were active in our local and state homeschool groups. They served on the boards of two local homeschool groups for over 15 years. Education is important to Christine Filipek and her family, and their children's right to homeschool is very dear to their hearts. Christine looks forward to helping other homeschool families continue on this awesome journey.
