Description
Spanish 3 Course Overview
This class is approved by the NCAA.
This class is part of the MyFunScience live online homeschool classes, which provide structured instruction for middle school and high school students. Families can explore all of our homeschool foreign language courses.
This live online Spanish 3 class continues where Spanish 2 finished. Students expand fluency, deepen reading comprehension, and strengthen their understanding of advanced grammar and verb tenses.
After more than 20 years of teaching foreign languages, this course blends proven classroom experience with the Comprehensible Input (TPRS) approach to language learning. Instead of focusing primarily on memorizing grammar rules and vocabulary lists, students learn through engaging stories, conversation, and reading they can easily understand. As students progress into Spanish 3, this approach continues to provide the foundation while introducing more focused grammar study, advanced verb tenses, deeper reading comprehension, and expanded cultural exploration as students mature in both understanding and communication.
During the second semester, if students are ready, we may begin reading portions of Scripture in Spanish as part of developing higher-level reading and comprehension skills.
Students entering from another program should review the method description on the Spanish 1 or Spanish 2 pages and complete a brief placement assessment to ensure the best fit.
