Becky Coffey - Teacher - MyFunScience.com

Mrs. Becky Coffey hails from the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. She is married to Barry, and they have four married sons and six grandchildren. They work in ministry, Barry is a pastor, and Mrs. Coffey is a musician. Mrs. Coffey home-educated her four sons for all of their K-12 school years (twenty-five years in total), led the county home educators' association, and has volunteered in various state home educators' roles. Her sons have all graduated with college degrees and are successful in their fields, so she knows that home education works!

She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching: Secondary Education, and a Master of Arts in History. She also holds teaching certificates for music theory. She loves teaching, education, and all things history. She has taught online for Big River Academy for the last seven years, filling the social studies and music departments. She teaches piano, harp, recorder (historic), and ukulele from her home studio in Virginia.

Becky Coffey also loves to travel, having traveled from a very young age with her parents in ministry all around the world. She has been to six continents, on many mission and ministry trips and also travels for pleasure. She loves to incorporate the history and culture of the places she has been into her lessons. Her hobbies include genealogy, photography, sewing/quilting, and gardening. She is a proud, current member of the Daughters of the American Revolution with (at last count) thirteen grandfathers who fought for the freedom of our country. She is also the current president of the Price Family Historical Society.
