This homeschool marine science class introduces younger students to the fascinating world of ocean life. Students participate in a live online marine science class where they explore marine ecosystems, ocean habitats, and the incredible diversity of sea creatures.
This marine science course is designed for students in grades 4–7 and helps students develop curiosity and scientific observation skills while learning about life in the oceans.

In Young Scientist Marine Science, students explore marine life from the deep sea to the shoreline. From microscopic organisms to giant whales, students will discover the amazing diversity of life in the oceans while learning basic taxonomy and even a few beachcombing techniques.
Throughout the course, students will see the beauty, creativity, and order of God’s design throughout the oceans and the creatures that inhabit them.
Students will participate in a variety of engaging learning activities, including:
- Hands-on projects
- Introductory research
- Gentle, student-friendly oral reports
- Interactive games
- Introductory lab report writing
- Videos showcasing marine organisms and ecosystems
This course is based on Apologia’s Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day, but also includes additional original material presented by the instructor.
