Description
Art 1 – Mixed Media offers a non-competitive, step-by-step drawing method where self-expression and creativity can flourish. We’ll explore a wide variety of drawing styles and media.
Drawing is a teachable skill that anyone can learn.
Students draw along with the instructor to create their images with direct, step-by-step instruction. They will learn to identify Five Basic Elements of Shape and use these shapes together to create realistic drawings – piece by piece.
Many of the lessons highlight a particular artist or a cultural artistic style. We’ll also explore wildlife, nature, still life, architectural structures, and proportion. Each lesson is different from semester to semester.
Claire has really been enjoying this class! We’ve tried co-ops, local art teachers, and even middle school classes at the local university, but nothing clicked until now. She’s always loved painting, but needed a little guidance to grow. The projects she’s done have been so impressive, and I can already see her skills improving — especially her use of color. We’re so thankful to have found you!”
