This class is part of the MyFunScience live online homeschool classes, which provide structured academic instruction for middle school and high school students. Families can explore all of our homeschool technology courses.

This live online technology careers class introduces homeschool high school students to the wide range of opportunities within the modern technology industry.

This full-year course explores the rapidly evolving world of technology careers while giving students hands-on exposure to the innovative tools shaping the future.

Students investigate real career pathways, experiment with emerging technologies, and develop professional skills that prepare them for tomorrow’s digital economy.

Fall Semester — Careers in Technology

  • Exploration of diverse tech career pathways

Students gain clarity about the skills, education, and opportunities that define today’s technology workforce while developing confidence in their own potential.

Spring Semester — Innovation Tools & Emerging Technology

  • Animation and motion design tools
  • AR/VR demonstrations
  • Emerging technologies in everyday life
  • Digital ethics and future impact discussions

The focus is on exploration and reflection rather than mastery. Students think critically about both the possibilities and the ethical responsibilities of new technologies.

The year culminates in a semester-long innovation project where students design and prototype a solution using emerging tools.

Anna Pollard began her professional career in the graphic and web design industry as a Creative Director in the field of Informational Technology. She has a AAS in Commercial Art and Advertising Design, a BA in Computer Science, and a Masters degree in Business and Marketing.

After 15 years of professional IT work, Anna Pollard made a career change to share her technology knowledge with students and began a career in teaching for many years.

Anna is married, has a 27 year old son whom she also home schooled, and who is now a chef at a French restaurant.

Anna has adopted/rescued multiple cats and two horses. In her spare time, she helps with the horses at Love of Lacey Equine rescue in Bunn Level, NC. She is also a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and creates colored pencil art work for show at local art galleries.
