Solidifying Foundations of Math Course Overview:
As a college math instructor, I have had students who completed pre-calculus or trigonometry in high school, but when they took their college placement test, they were put in Basic Math or Pre-Algebra because they didn’t have a strong foundation of math basics.
Twenty+ years of teaching math have allowed me to identify the specific areas of math foundations that can create problems for students at all levels. This course will strengthen computations with Integers, fractions, decimals, exponents, and order of operations, which are the fundamentals needed to do well in Algebra and upper-level math classes. It is designed for the struggling student, as well as the student who enjoys math and wants to improve their skills.
Who should take this class?
Students preparing for Algebra 1 and those in any of the other high school level math classes who want their basic math foundation to be rock solid.
Student must have experience calculating fractions, decimals, and negative numbers; however they do not have to be proficient with these skills.
